About The Position

The DSG Product Technician role is based in Memphis, TN, and involves performing various repair and maintenance tasks on furniture and case goods within a retail distribution center. This position requires a hands-on approach to fixing damages, ensuring products are restored to like-new condition, and maintaining a clean and organized repair area. The technician will also be responsible for documenting product issues, communicating with relevant teams, and adhering to safety protocols.

Requirements

High School Diploma.
1 year practical work experience in furniture repair including upholstery, leather repairs and wood refinishing
Able to communicate effectively.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Demonstrated working knowledge of MS Office products and ability to learn in-house computer programs.
Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

Performs minor repair on top of surface of case pieces and tables.
Performs solid color paper/side refinishes.
Performs small corner damages that require rebuild.
Has general understanding of spray booth set up and use.
Performs advance replacement part repairs.
Communicates any maintenance of tools, parts and hardware needed as well as keeping repair area/shop clean.
Help to inspect damaged products and convey them if they can be repaired to like new conditions.
Works with warehouse personnel on techniques of minor touch up on products during the inspection process.
Documents and follows through on reoccurring product damages.
Notify the Guest Response Team and DC Manager of repeated item issues.
Complete upholstery repair including mechanism replacement.
Assist other technicians.
Accurately reports situations that occur when repairs cannot be completed.
Must be able to assess damages to determine the most efficient way to repair them.
Identifies damage, loss or surplus of goods and materials stored in the warehouse.
