About The Position

This role is for a Product Technician in the DSG Product Technician position, located in Memphis, TN. The company offers on-demand pay and great benefits. The technician will perform various repair tasks on furniture and case goods, inspect damaged products, and work with warehouse personnel. They will also be responsible for documenting recurring product damages, communicating issues to management, and completing upholstery repairs. The role requires assessing damages to determine the most efficient repair methods and identifying damage, loss, or surplus of goods. The technician must demonstrate the Company’s Core and Growth Values, follow OSHA and Company safety rules, and perform other assigned duties. This position is based in a Retail Distribution Center.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • 1 year practical work experience in furniture repair including upholstery, leather repairs and wood refinishing
  • Able to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of MS Office products and ability to learn in-house computer programs.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

  • Performs minor repair on top of surface of case pieces and tables.
  • Performs solid color paper/side refinishes.
  • Performs small corner damages that require rebuild.
  • Has general understanding of spray booth set up and use.
  • Performs advance replacement part repairs.
  • Communicates any maintenance of tools, parts and hardware needed as well as keeping repair area/shop clean.
  • Help to inspect damaged products and convey them if they can be repaired to like new conditions.
  • Works with warehouse personnel on techniques of minor touch up on products during the inspection process.
  • Documents and follows through on reoccurring product damages.
  • Notify the Guest Response Team and DC Manager of repeated item issues.
  • Complete upholstery repair including mechanism replacement.
  • Assist other technicians.
  • Accurately reports situations that occur when repairs cannot be completed.
  • Must be able to assess damages to determine the most efficient way to repair them.
  • Identifies damage, loss or surplus of goods and materials stored in the warehouse.
