Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • 1-year practical work experience in furniture repair including upholstery, leather repairs and wood refinishing OR similar experience working with other materials and completing color matching.
  • Read, understand, and write in the English language; additional languages beneficial.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to learn in-house computer programs.
  • Valid Driver’s License and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record per company guidelines.
  • Technical Expertise: You have 1+ years of practical furniture repair experience including upholstery, leather repairs, and wood refinishing, or similar experience with materials and color matching.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: You can assess damages independently and determine the most efficient repair approach.
  • Attention to Detail: You have a keen eye for quality and can restore furniture to like-new conditions.
  • Customer Focus: You're committed to delivering world-class service and take pride in exceeding customer expectations.
  • Communication Skills: You can effectively interact with customers, team members, and warehouse personnel in English (additional languages beneficial).
  • Safety First Mindset: You champion safe operations of hand and power tools, spray booth equipment, and all repair products.
  • Time Management: You can work independently, manage your schedule effectively, and follow planned routes for on-time arrivals.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs with little guidance on all product types.
  • Completes all repair types of entry level with additional skills requirements.
  • Performs minor repair on top of surface of case pieces and tables.
  • Performs solid color paper/side refinishes.
  • Performs small corner damages that requires rebuild.
  • Has general understanding of spray booth set up and use.
  • Performs advance replacement part repairs.
  • Communicates any maintenance of tools, parts and hardware needed as well as keeping repair area/shop clean.
  • Help to inspect damaged products and conveys if it can be repaired to like new conditions.
  • Works with warehouse personnel on techniques of minor touch up on products during the inspection process.
  • Documents and follows through on recurring product damages.
  • Assist other technicians.
  • Accurately reports situations that occur when repairs cannot be completed.
  • Must be able to assess damages to determine the most efficient way to repair them.
  • Identifies damage, loss or surplus of goods and materials stored in the warehouse.
  • Demonstrate the Company’s Core and Growth Values in the performance of all job functions.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work areas.
  • Maintains proper safety usage of all products that are used within the department.
  • Maintain a clean and organized service vehicle, including maintaining required repair materials and supplies.
  • Adhere to driving policy for company vehicles, including meeting annual MVR review requirements.
  • Follow the planned route to ensure on-time arrival for Customer repairs.
  • Safe operation of hand and power hand tools, especially drills, impact drivers, and multi-tools.
  • Complete bench testing evaluations for regular validation of skills.
  • Be the face of Ashley by delivering exceptional in-home furniture repair services with professionalism and care.
  • Master the art of furniture restoration across all product types, including case goods, leather, and upholstery.
  • Drive customer satisfaction by completing minor to advanced repairs on handling damage and product issues.
  • Ensure perfect results through expert color matching, refinishing, and rebuilding techniques.
  • Contribute to our quality standards by performing solid color paper/side refinishes and surface repairs.
  • Take pride in maintaining an organized, efficient service vehicle with required materials and supplies.
  • Support continuous improvement by documenting recurring product damages and sharing insights.
  • Create exceptional customer experiences through timely arrivals, expert repairs, and professional communication.
