About The Position

Persistent is seeking a highly skilled Senior ETL Developer with a strong background in IBM DataStage. The role focuses on ETL development and administration, Unix shell scripting, Cron jobs, and relational databases. The successful candidate will lead initiatives to build utilities and frameworks that automate functionality and environment checks, and help improve the data processing environment. The position is based in San Jose, United States, and requires 6+ years of experience. The successful candidate will bring technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to excellence in ETL development. They will work with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment, communicate across onshore and offshore teams, and help ensure efficient delivery and alignment with business objectives.

Requirements

6+ years of experience in ETL development and administration using IBM DataStage.
Strong knowledge of Unix shell scripting and Cron jobs.
Proficiency in SQL for database querying and automation.
Experience leading automation initiatives and developing frameworks.
Familiarity with Agile delivery models and tools such as JIRA.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills and experience working in an onshore-offshore model.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of Control-M, MFT, and IBM Gentran.
Experience with the Snowflake platform.
Media domain knowledge.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain ETL processes using IBM DataStage for data integration and transformation.
Use Unix shell scripts and Cron jobs to automate and schedule data workflows.
Write and optimize SQL queries to improve platform performance and automate processes.
Lead initiatives to create utilities and frameworks for automating functionality and environment checks.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment using tools such as JIRA and CI/CD pipelines.
Ensure adherence to Sony’s ITSM processes and SLA expectations.
Communicate with onshore and offshore teams to facilitate project delivery.
