About The Position
The Drywall Toter assists with loading delivery trucks, maintaining clean warehouse, yard, truck, and delivery-site areas, and stocking drywall and other construction materials on or in jobsites. The role operates a company forklift, pulls and stages delivery orders, and helps ensure products and tickets are accurate and complete. The position is in the Shipping/Warehouse department in the Monroe, NC division and reports to the Operations Manager. It is hourly and non-exempt.
Requirements
- Forklift certification.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small-group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute rates, ratios, and percentages; and draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions and handle problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 200 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Operate the company forklift in a professional, safe, and courteous manner.
- Pull assigned orders for delivery.
- Place orders in the staging area and mark ticket numbers on products to help ensure the correct products are shipped.
- Perform daily maintenance checks and report malfunctions to the Operations Manager.
- Notify Dispatchers when products are out of stock.
- Keep shipping and warehouse areas clean.
- Assist with loading delivery trucks and keeping the warehouse, yard, trucks, and delivery sites clean.
- Stock drywall and other construction materials on or in jobsites.
- Ensure all tickets are complete before turning them in to the designated location.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
