About The Position

KLN Family Brands is seeking a Night Shift Dry Packaging Machine Operator to join their team. This role is responsible for operating and maintaining the general operation of a production line, ensuring continuous quality, efficiency, sanitation, and safety. The position reports to the night shift supervisor and assistant supervisor. Requirements

  • General mathematical ability and basic computer skills.
  • Must not be afraid of heights; ability to climb 150 feet.
  • Must be able to meet physical requirements necessary for this position.
  • Willing to work hours and shifts as required by the supervisor.
  • Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand English.
  • Ability to handle weights of up to 65lbs on a routine basis.
  • Willing to fill in on other shifts as required by supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain the general operation of a production line.
  • Ensure continuous quality, efficiency, sanitation, and safety of the line.
  • Start up and set up all required equipment for production.
  • Control packaging materials, code dates, expiration dates, stickers, and other product-specific items.
  • Monitor product quality, packaging quality, contamination, weight controls, and line efficiency.
  • Perform general maintenance and repairs on equipment and assist maintenance personnel.
  • Perform all equipment adjustments and changeovers and troubleshoot equipment problems.
  • Complete all daily reports legibly and undertake special projects as assigned.
  • Assist in controlling packaging from the warehouse and supervising line workers.
  • Assist other lines when needed and assist in training line workers.
  • Coordinate all record keeping and charting, including cleaning schedules, packaging yields, and efficiency.
  • Assist Supervisor and Foreman as needed to control the packaging area.
  • Communicate with Supervisor/Foreman on all production concerns.
  • Communicate with Extruder Operators on product times and bin space.
  • Gain general knowledge of daily extrusion and production reports.
  • Gain complete knowledge of bin, product distribution, product delivery, and blending systems.
