About The Position

The Software Engineer/Developer will support the development, enhancement, maintenance, and technical support of Drupal-based applications and content management systems (CMS). The role works within a technical team supporting web applications and content management solutions in a hosted environment. Experience with Microsoft Azure is highly desirable. The position requires 5–7 years of professional software development experience, including at least five years developing Drupal applications and supporting Drupal-based hosting CMS environments and applications. The developer will design, build, configure, enhance, and maintain Drupal applications and websites; provide technical support; troubleshoot application, configuration, performance, and integration issues; and support upgrades, patches, testing, defect resolution, and deployments. The role also involves integrating Drupal applications with external systems and APIs, applying secure development practices, maintaining technical documentation, and collaborating with project team members. The position may require attending meetings at the GPO office. A National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) screening must be successfully completed before work begins.

Requirements

5–7 years of professional software development or software engineering experience.
At least five years of experience developing and building Drupal applications.
At least five years of experience providing technical support for Drupal-based hosting CMS environments and applications.
Strong hands-on experience with Drupal development, configuration, administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Experience developing or maintaining custom Drupal modules and themes.
Experience supporting web applications throughout the software development lifecycle.
Experience troubleshooting application and CMS-related technical issues.
Familiarity with source control, application testing, deployment, and software configuration management practices.
Ability to document technical solutions, configurations, and application changes effectively.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative technical environment.
Ability to complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) screening before beginning work.
Strong knowledge of Drupal architecture, configuration, modules, themes, and CMS functionality.
Knowledge of software development methodologies, application lifecycle practices, web application development, integration, deployment, support, secure development, and application maintenance.
Ability to diagnose and resolve complex Drupal application and CMS issues; develop, modify, test, and maintain Drupal applications; and translate technical requirements into software solutions.
Ability to communicate technical information clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders, work independently and collaboratively in a distributed development team, and manage competing priorities and deadlines.

Nice To Haves

Experience deploying, hosting, or supporting Drupal applications in Microsoft Azure; Microsoft Azure experience is described as highly desirable.
Experience supporting Drupal solutions in federal government environments.
Familiarity with cloud-hosted web application architectures and services.
Experience working on Agile software development or application support teams.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, configure, enhance, and maintain Drupal-based applications and websites.
Provide technical support for Drupal-based hosting, CMS platforms, and applications.
Develop and maintain custom Drupal modules, themes, configurations, and integrations.
Troubleshoot Drupal application, configuration, performance, and integration issues.
Perform Drupal upgrades, updates, patches, and ongoing application maintenance.
Support integration of Drupal applications with external systems, services, and APIs.
Participate in application testing, troubleshooting, defect resolution, and deployment activities.
Apply secure software development practices throughout the application development lifecycle.
Collaborate with developers, engineers, technical leads, and other project team members to resolve technical issues and implement enhancements.
Develop and maintain technical documentation for applications, configurations, enhancements, and operational support.
Support Drupal applications operating in Microsoft Azure-hosted environments.
Participate in technical meetings and, when required, attend meetings at the GPO office.
