About The Position
Music & Arts is seeking a skilled musician and dedicated educator to teach private music lessons and inspire students. The teacher creates an engaging, supportive, and safe learning environment for students of varying ages and skill levels, helping them grow as musicians. The role includes regular communication with students and parents, goal-setting, and progress updates, as well as partnering with store teams to schedule lessons and encourage student retention. Music & Arts handles administrative work so instructors can focus on teaching. The posting lists a pay rate of $15 per hour for non-teaching work and $10–$20 per hour for teaching, depending on background and experience. The role offers musicians the opportunity to take gig leave to perform or tour and return to their job afterward.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or equivalent experience.
- At least 2 years of music teaching experience.
Nice To Haves
- Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctoral) in Music.
- Professional teaching memberships or certifications.
- 8 or more years of teaching experience, especially with multiple instruments.
