About The Position

Provide operational support to the Designated Employer Representative (DER) in the administration of DOT and non‑DOT drug and alcohol testing programs. The role ensures regulatory compliance, effective coordination of testing activities, and confidential management of records in support of the company’s Drug‑Free Workplace Program.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum two years of experience in drug testing collection, program administration, or related compliance functions.
  • Minimum two years of experience serving as a Drug Screen Administrator (DSA), Designated Employer Representative (DER), or equivalent.
  • Ability to meet all pre‑employment and ongoing compliance requirements, including background checks and drug testing.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in safety, human resources, or a related discipline.
  • Working knowledge of DOT drug and alcohol regulations, including Part 40.
  • Familiarity with substance abuse policies, safety management systems, and regulatory compliance processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
  • Effective organizational and multitasking capabilities.
  • Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in standard office and data management applications.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain confidential drug and alcohol testing records in compliance with DOT 49 CFR Part 40 and company requirements.
  • Coordinate logistics for pre‑employment, random, post‑accident, reasonable suspicion, return‑to‑duty, and follow‑up testing.
  • Manage CDL quarterly random testing, onboarding screening requirements, and FMCSA Clearinghouse queries.
  • Support compliance obligations for Federal Motor Carrier and Pipeline/Hazardous Materials operations.
  • Serve as primary point of contact between employees, collection sites, laboratories, Medical Review Officers (MROs), Safety, and Human Resources.
  • Receive, review, and communicate test results to appropriate stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Exercise delegated authority to take appropriate actions for non-compliant personnel according to the drug and alcohol policy.
  • Remove employees from duty and initiate required actions based on testing outcomes.
  • Support recruiting and onboarding activities related to pre‑employment drug screening.
  • Monitor and apply applicable federal and state drug and alcohol testing requirements.
  • Coordinate corporate random testing with third‑party service providers.
  • Order testing supplies, manage vendor invoices, and support cost tracking.
  • Participate in shared on‑call coverage as required.
  • Perform other duties aligned with role scope and business needs.
