About The Position

The Drug-GM Merchandise Clerk creates an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service and helps maintain a safe, clean environment that encourages customers to return. The role assists the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals and monitors established quality assurance standards. Requirements

Retail experience.

Responsibilities

Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions about products sold in the department and throughout the store.
Learn and maintain knowledge of department products, answer questions, and make product suggestions.
Offer product samples to help customers discover items or products they ask about.
Inform customers about Drug GM specials.
Recommend Drug GM items so customers can find the products they want and need.
Review sell-by dates and take appropriate action.
Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
Report product ordering or shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
Maintain a positive attitude.
Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special advertisements.
Comply with safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify store management.
Inspect equipment as part of preventive maintenance and notify the appropriate department or store manager of items needing repair.
Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
Report safety risks, issues, and illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
Manage conflict reasonably and in a nonconfrontational, cooperative manner.
Act honestly and with integrity regarding customer and business information.
Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
