About The Position

A Driving Instructor at Capabilities works with individuals age 16 and older, with and without disabilities, to help them develop the skills needed to obtain a learner’s permit and/or driver’s license. The instructor provides one-on-one lessons on traffic laws, road signs, responsibility, and safety, and helps learners build confidence while driving on the road. When learners are ready for their driving test, the instructor accompanies them to the testing site to support them.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or above.
• Ability to type 25 words per minute and navigate a company-issued laptop.
• Clean driving record and ability to teach people to drive in company vehicles.
• Ability to pass a background screening and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Teach individuals age 16 and older how to prepare for a learner’s permit and/or driver’s license.
• Provide one-on-one instruction on traffic laws, signs, responsibility, and safety.
• Help learners build confidence while driving on the road.
• Accompany learners to the driving test site and support them.
