The primary function of this position is to re-build transmissions, transfer cases and differentials. This role involves working with tear down employees to identify units for remanufacturing, washing parts, inspecting cores and components for buildability, and evaluating them for appropriate critical components or any that do not meet quality standards. The technician will remove and identify worn internal bearings and gears, document replaced components, and ensure all inventoried components are listed on the WIP document. They will deliver the WIP document to parts pullers and can start the next project while waiting for parts. Following build sheets or standard work instructions, the technician will ensure the finished unit is in good working order and cosmetically acceptable. Responsibilities also include cleaning scrap bins and trash, informing maintenance of machinery breakdowns, and maintaining a clean and safe workspace. Other tasks as directed will be performed in a professional and timely manner.
