About The Position

Assist truck drivers with loading and delivering materials. Help customers in the warehouse as needed, following company procedures. Load and unload warehouse materials and receive returned merchandise according to company procedures. Perform other duties assigned by the Dispatcher, Yard Foreman, Assistant General Manager, General Manager of Building Materials, or management.

Requirements

• Ability to do arithmetic, read orders, write instructions, and complete forms.
• Ability to communicate with customers, employees, and supervisors verbally, in writing, or through other skills.
• Knowledge of and ability to use safe lifting techniques.
• Knowledge of materials and products.
• Ability to lift 100 pounds to a height of 6 feet, carry 100 pounds over a distance exceeding 12 feet, and push 100 pounds in a wheeled cart.
• Ability to bend, stoop, or squat to floor level repetitively and reach overhead to grasp materials.
• Ability to work outdoors in temperatures ranging from extreme heat to extreme cold, work with mechanical equipment daily, and stand for up to four hours at a time.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED desired.
• Three months of experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the truck driver with loading and delivering materials.
• Wait on customers in the warehouse and follow established company procedures.
• Ensure customers have the proper copies of sales invoices before they obtain materials.
• Load and unload materials in the warehouse.
• Receive returned merchandise according to company procedures.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Dispatcher, Yard Foreman, Assistant General Manager, General Manager of Building Materials, or management.
