About The Position

The Driver transports airport carts from high-return areas to high-rental areas to keep carts available for customers. The role operates a pickup truck and trailer between terminals and manually moves carts through airport departures, baggage claim, the garage, and rental car center to designated collection areas. It also includes routine cleaning and upkeep of carts and related equipment, passenger assistance, and safe, professional operation of company vehicles and equipment. The position requires open scheduling availability, including weekends and holidays, and the ability to work in a fast-paced airport environment and withstand weather conditions ranging from wind, rain, and snow to extreme temperatures up to 115 degrees. The role is based at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport and pays $20.25 per hour.

Requirements

At least 2 years of successful work experience.
Demonstrated ability to safely maneuver a truck and trailer.
Open scheduling availability, including weekends and holidays.
Confidence and competence in a fast-paced environment.
Comfort speaking to the general public.
Ability to pass state, federal (FAA), and Homeland Security clearance requirements and reference checks.
Ability to obtain an airport badge.
A driver's license and a good driving history.
Ability to lift 40 pounds to waist height.
Physical ability and manual dexterity to lift, push, or pull a minimum of 75–100 pounds.
Ability to walk and stand for 10 hours a day and for the duration of the shift.
Ability to withstand wind, rain, snow, and extreme temperatures up to 115 degrees.

Responsibilities

Transport carts via air train truck from high-return areas to high-rental areas so carts remain available to customers.
Move carts between terminals using a pickup truck and trailer.
Manually move carts throughout departures, baggage claim, the garage, and rental car center to cart collection areas, including vending units or cart tracks.
Follow cart replenishment inventory protocols for rental mechanized equipment.
Perform routine cleaning of carts, CMUs, EQRs, cart tracks, locks, keys, and moving equipment.
Practice safe work habits to protect oneself, coworkers, company equipment, airport property, passengers, and visitors.
Provide general customer service to assist passengers navigating the airport.
Communicate effectively with peers, maintenance, and management to improve business operations.
Adapt to operational changes and perform additional duties as assigned.
