About The Position

Drivers provide safe and efficient delivery of pharmaceuticals and supplies to healthcare centers, hospice or home care agencies and patient residences. This includes, but is not limited to, conducting vehicle inspection before leaving the pharmacy, maintaining all credentials (insurance verification, driver’s license, log book, etc) required are on person before departing on route, practicing safe driving at all times, providing superior customer service, communicating delivery issues with the Pharmacist or Pharmacy Manager, and reporting issues with regard to the vehicle to supervisor.

Requirements

  • Driver’s License
  • Clean DMVR
  • Proof of insurance

Nice To Haves

  • High School diploma, GED or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge and skills

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prioritize and complete projects
  • Utilize tools such as Mapquest and/or GPS units
  • Read and interpret maps and driving directions to plan the most efficient route; read and interpret road signs in English
  • Display a professional attitude and appearance
  • Display a strong work ethic
  • Possess excellent customer service skills
  • Display good communication skills and the ability to read and write clearly
  • Clearly understand delivery manifests/tickets and obtain all appropriate signatures
  • Keep supervisor informed of daily activities and issues
  • Keep assigned vehicle clean inside and outside
  • Fuel assigned vehicle as necessary
  • Maintain accurate records on daily trip log, fuel purchases, vehicle condition, other records as requested
  • Drive at varied times and weather conditions
  • Abide by all state driving laws, including the mandatory use of seat belts, not driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs (including prescription drugs that may impair driving ability), and yielding to all emergency vehicles.
  • Willingness to work hours outside of normal business hours at employers discretion
  • Get along with co-workers; maintain effective relationships with management staff, partners and the general public
  • Follow all company policies and procedures, state and federal laws and regulation and report violations to the appropriate supervisor
