About The Position

Waste Connections is hiring a Driver to collect and load residential waste and transport it to a landfill and/or transfer station. The role involves following assigned routes, conducting daily vehicle inspections, interacting courteously with customers, and completing other related duties. It is physically demanding and may involve working without helpers. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays and frequent overtime. The position starts at 2 a.m. and requires flexibility to work 50–55 hours per week.

Requirements

Valid Class A or B CDL with air brake endorsement.
Clean driving record.
Working knowledge of D.O.T. laws.
Ability to work 50–55 hours per week.
Schedule flexibility to work Monday through Friday with a 2 a.m. start time and occasional Saturdays; Sundays are not required.
Willingness to submit to and pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening test.
Ability to read, write, and comprehend reports to complete daily assignments.
Ability to work in varied environments and withstand weather conditions including rain, heat, sun, and cold.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move and maneuver up to 100 pounds.
Ability to mount and dismount the truck multiple times each day while on route.

Responsibilities

Read route tablets or sheets and service each customer listed or assigned by the dispatcher.
Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip DOT vehicle inspections, including checking fluids, safety equipment, lights, and tire pressure.
Collect and load waste, including physically demanding loading and unloading that may be performed without helpers.
Transport waste to a landfill and/or transfer station.
Interact courteously with customers.
Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
