About The Position

The Driver is responsible for safely transporting PACE participants to and from the program site while maintaining accurate transportation logs and records. This role assists participants with boarding and exiting the vehicle, delivers medications, supplies, and medical equipment to participants’ homes as needed, and communicates daily route updates to other drivers. The Driver functions as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) and contributes participant‑specific observations to support coordinated care.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid GA Driver's License
  • Clean driving record with no traffic citations or violations within the past 12 months
  • 1 year of experience with professional driving/transportation
  • Must be able to operate mid-to-large size vehicle and possess general automobile mechanism knowledge.
  • Must not have been convicted of criminal offenses pertaining to physical, sexual, drug, or alcohol abuse.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal directions.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with staff and patients/participants to provide excellent customer service.
  • Must be able to work independently, as well as part of a team with other drivers and PACE Georgia staff.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of assisting patients or persons with Dementia/Alzheimer Disease, including individuals with mobility limitations or medical conditions preferred and/or one year of experience working with a frail or elderly population.
  • BLS certified/ First Aid Certification preferred.
  • Must maintain upon completion/Or must obtain BLS and CPR within 60 days of hire.
  • CDL-Preferred
