About The Position

The Driver safely transports patients to and from appointments, activity trips, airport shuttle service, and other special events. The role also supports transportation needs for visitors and staff, admissions and discharges, and facility supplies or equipment. The Driver maintains vehicle cleanliness and functionality, keeps accurate transportation records, and responds to the required on-call schedule. The position requires a professional, empathetic approach to customers and a focus on patient safety.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification; training is available upon hire and offered by the facility.

Nice To Haves

• First aid may be required based on the state or facility.

Responsibilities

• Pick up or transport visitors or staff as needed.
• Transport patients for admissions and discharges.
• Ensure all passengers are wearing seatbelts before starting the vehicle.
• Drive a company facility vehicle to pick up supplies or equipment as needed.
• Respond to and adhere to the on-call schedule as required.
• Accurately and appropriately complete transportation documentation.
• Maintain vehicle logs and report maintenance issues to appropriate facility staff.
• Ensure company vehicles are clean and functional.
• Demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers.
• Acknowledge and work to resolve complaints when patient needs are not met.
• Recognize patient safety as a top priority.
