About The Position

Holman Powertrain has a great opportunity for a Driver to join our team in Indianapolis, IN! The role involves working as a truck driver, delivering new and collecting used auto parts as needed. The driver must be able to be certified medically by a certified DOT medical examiner regarding fitness, operate the vehicle in compliance with all state and federal safety and administrative requirements, and follow all company safety policies and procedures. The position requires loading, securing, and delivering automobile parts (engines, transmissions, small parts, etc.) to customers, driving to customer locations, and offloading and reloading the truck. Loading is performed with a pallet jack or hand truck. The driver will also unload the vehicle and stack returned product to facilitate warehouse efficiency. Daily DOT safety checks/inspections on the vehicle are required, and any deficiencies must be reported to a supervisor. The role may require overnight stays if the route necessitates it. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Prior warehouse driver experience.
  • Must be able to drive up to Non-CDL 26’ box trucks.
  • Must be able to pass a DOT application process and physical.
  • Pallet Jack/Forklift experience.
  • Basic computers skills.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Positive energy while working in a team setting.
  • Technical knowledge.
  • Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. without assistance and up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
  • Must be able to drive vehicles 26,000 GVW.

Nice To Haves

  • Valid CDL holder a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver new and collect used auto parts as needed.
  • Operate vehicle in compliance with all state and federal safety and administrative requirements.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report all accidents to a manager or supervisor.
  • Load, secure, and deliver automobile parts (engines, transmissions, small parts, etc.) to customers.
  • Drive to customer locations and off load and reload truck.
  • Loading is performed with a pallet jack or hand truck.
  • Unload vehicle and stack returned product in a manner to facilitate warehouse efficiency.
  • Use Scanner/print pad to Scan/log returned goods; track delivery of goods and returns.
  • Check-in finished goods before loading vehicle.
  • Work within weather related extremes.
  • Perform daily DOT safety check/inspection on vehicle and report deficiencies to supervisor.
  • Willing to have overnight stays if required by route.
