About The Position

Propulsion Controls Engineering has a current opening for a Driver supporting our San Diego, CA location. A Driver is responsible for the delivery and pickup of supplies and equipment to and from job sites, the shop, or vendors' facilities. This role also involves assisting in vehicle maintenance and repairs. The position requires adherence to all traffic laws and safety regulations, and the ability to maintain a professional demeanor and work ethic.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent education and experience.
• Valid state driver’s license (with clean driving record).
• Knowledge of local driving area.
• General knowledge of hand and power tools, fasteners and fittings.
• Possess mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to communicate with others.
• Eligible to obtain base access clearance, which includes passing a background check and presenting valid government-issued identification.

Responsibilities

• Delivery and pickup of supplies, equipment to/from job site, shop or vendor’s facility.
• Assist in vehicle maintenance and repairs.
• Conducts vehicle inspection for safety discrepancies or damage, complete timely report of new discrepancies.
• Ensure safety and security of transported loads, equipment, supplies.
• Performs simple maintenance, such as filling fuel tank, cleaning interior and exterior.
• Obeys all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Demonstrates ability to appear for work on time, follow directions from a supervisor, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow work rules and procedures, comply with corporate policies, goals and objectives, accept constructive feedback, establish goals and objectives, and exhibit initiative and commitment.
• Other duties as assigned, requested or needed.
