About The Position

OATS Transit is a nonprofit transportation provider serving seniors, individuals with disabilities, and the rural general public in Missouri. Drivers are assigned to mini-vans, Ford Transits, or wide-body buses. This is a non-exempt, hourly, variable-hour position. Drivers assist riders and provide safe, courteous transportation while maintaining their assigned vehicle and equipment. They use an in-vehicle tablet to receive trip information and validate pickup and drop-off times, complete paperwork, and attend routine paid training.

Requirements

Must be at least 23 years of age.
Must have a Class E or CDL license with no more than 4 points assessed.
Must pass a U.S. DOT physical and road test.
Must pass drug screening and undergo random drug and alcohol testing.
Must be bondable.
Must be able to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job, including sitting, walking, bending, reaching, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying.
Must have a proactive, helpful, can-do attitude and flexibility to adjust to different schedules and routes.
Must be neat, organized, and able to work independently.

Computer experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Treat riders with respect, dignity, and courtesy, and assist them on and off the bus.
Safely secure wheelchairs and other mobility devices and follow applicable procedures.
Maintain the excellent condition and cleanliness of the assigned OATS vehicle and equipment.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report issues for repair.
Use an in-vehicle tablet to receive trip information and updates and validate pickup and drop-off times.
Complete required paperwork and submit it to the regional office in a timely manner.
Attend routine paid training.
Comply with federal, state, and company rules and regulations.
