About The Position

The Driver safely transports patients to and from appointments, activity trips, airport shuttle service, and other special events. The role may also involve transporting visitors or staff and picking up supplies or equipment. The Driver responds to the required on-call schedule, completes transportation documentation, maintains vehicle logs, reports maintenance issues, and keeps company vehicles clean and functional. The position requires a positive, empathetic, and professional approach to customers, attention to patient safety, and efforts to acknowledge and resolve complaints when patient needs are not met.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid state driver's license.
CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification; training is available upon hire and offered by the facility.

Responsibilities

Safely transport patients to and from appointments, activity trips, airport shuttle service, and other special events.
Pick up or transport visitors or staff as needed.
Transport patients for admissions and discharges.
Ensure all passengers are wearing seatbelts before starting the vehicle.
Drive a company facility vehicle to pick up supplies or equipment as needed.
Respond to and adhere to the on-call schedule as required.
Accurately and appropriately complete transportation documentation.
Maintain vehicle logs and report maintenance issues to appropriate facility staff.
Ensure all company vehicles are clean and functional.
Demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers, acknowledge unmet patient needs, and work to resolve complaints while prioritizing patient safety.
