About The Position

AAA is hiring Drivers to provide non-emergency medical transportation in Yavapai County. Drivers provide safe, reliable, and timely transportation while offering personalized attention and care to passengers, including older adults and individuals with disabilities. Paid training is provided onsite in Phoenix, and drivers take home a company vehicle with working air conditioning. Training classes start every week. The starting hourly rate is $16.00.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
At least 25 years of age.
Valid Arizona driver's license.
Minimum of five years of driving history.
No pending charges.
No felony convictions in the past seven years.
No DUI or DWI convictions.
Pass a criminal background check and motor vehicle record investigation.
If over age 65, pass a DOT physical, including a pre-employment drug screening.
Valid authorization to work in the United States.
Ability to use a tablet, GPS, two-way radio, or other electronic device.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Ability to communicate with others and comprehend instructions.
Ability to understand highway traffic signs, signals, maps, manifests, and schedules.
Ability to obtain knowledge of FTA, ADA, and DOT regulations.
Familiarity with the main roadways and major highways in the service area.

Responsibilities

Provide safe and reliable transportation.
Demonstrate excellent defensive driving skills.
Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
Assist passengers with loading and unloading from the vehicle.
Assist with mobility devices and securement as required by safety protocols.
Ensure on-time passenger pick-ups and drop-offs.
Demonstrate understanding and sensitivity to the needs of older adults and individuals with disabilities.
Complete required thorough vehicle pre-trip, post-trip, and DVI inspections.
Complete required paperwork.
Use tablets or other electronic devices as required.
