About The Position

OATS Transit is a non-profit transportation provider serving seniors, individuals with disabilities, and the rural general public in Missouri. Drivers are assigned to mini-vans, Ford Transits, or wide-body buses. This is a non-exempt, hourly, variable-hour position. Drivers assist riders, operate and maintain an assigned vehicle, use an in-vehicle tablet for trip information, complete paperwork, attend paid training, and comply with applicable rules and regulations.

Requirements

Be at least 23 years of age.
Hold a Class E or CDL license with no more than 4 points assessed.
Pass a U.S. DOT physical and road test.
Pass drug screening and undergo random drug and alcohol testing.
Be bondable.
Be able to meet the physical demands of the job, including sitting, walking, bending, reaching, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying.
Be able to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 pounds.
Have a proactive, helpful, can-do attitude and flexibility to adjust to different schedules and routes.
Be neat, organized, and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

Treat riders with respect, dignity, and courtesy, and assist all riders on and off the bus.
Safely secure wheelchairs and other mobility devices and follow applicable procedures.
Maintain the excellent condition and cleanliness of the assigned OATS vehicle and equipment.
Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report issues requiring repairs.
Use an in-vehicle tablet to receive trip information and updates and validate pickup and drop-off times.
Complete required paperwork and submit it to the regional office in a timely manner.
Attend routine paid training.
Comply with federal, state, and company rules and regulations.
