About The Position

The Commons in Lincoln, a Benchmark CCRC campus, is seeking an experienced part-time Driver, also described as a Van Driver. The role provides transportation services to residents, including trips to medical appointments, outings, and shopping. The Driver also serves as an Activity Assistant during excursions, remains with the group except when parking the van, and monitors residents’ activity to alert staff when assistance is needed. The role includes maintaining vehicles in safe working order in accordance with warranty requirements or the internal maintenance plan.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent certificate preferred.
• Demonstrated interest in the elderly and knowledge of their needs.
• Demonstrated activities or recreational experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maintain vehicles according to warranty requirements and/or the internal maintenance plan to ensure they are safe and in working order.

• Monitor resident activity and alert staff when assistance is needed to help ensure resident safety.
