About The Position

The Mental Health Association of Columbia-Greene Counties, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Transportation Driver to join their team. This part-time position involves operating agency vehicles to safely transport clients to various MHACG sites, ensuring passenger safety, and assisting them as needed. The driver will also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and operational order of agency vehicles. This role is crucial in advocating for the health and well-being of individuals, families, and communities.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must maintain a valid NYS driver’s license acceptable to Agency insurance standards, clean MVR, and reliable transportation.
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to last-minute schedule changes.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Regular and consistent attendance is essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, and internet programs.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse population, including urban, suburban, and rural communities with varying socioeconomic backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Providing "door-through-door" or "curb-to-curb" service, assisting passengers with mobility aids (wheelchairs, walkers) as needed.
  • Adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations to ensure prompt and secure transport.
  • Completing daily trip logs, mileage reports, and pre/post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Interacting professionally with supervisor, fleet manager, and passengers.
  • Monitoring vehicle fuel and fluid levels, cleanliness, and scheduling routine maintenance.
