About The Position

OATS Transit is a non-profit transportation provider serving seniors, individuals with disabilities, and the rural general public in Missouri. Drivers are assigned to a mini-van, Ford Transit, or wide body bus. This is a non-exempt, hourly, variable-hour employee position. Drivers attend routine paid training and comply with applicable federal, state, and company rules and regulations.

Requirements

Must be at least 23 years old.
Must hold a Class E or CDL license with no more than four points assessed.
Must pass a U.S. DOT physical and road test.
Must pass drug screening and undergo random drug and alcohol testing.
Must be bondable.
Must be able to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 pounds.
Must have a proactive, helpful, can-do attitude and flexibility to adjust to different schedules and routes.
Must be neat, organized, and able to work independently.
The job requires sitting, walking, bending, reaching, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying.

Computer experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Treat riders with respect, dignity, and courtesy, and assist riders on and off the bus.
Safely secure wheelchairs and other mobility devices and follow applicable procedures.
Maintain the excellent condition and cleanliness of the assigned vehicle and equipment.
Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report issues requiring repairs.
Use an in-vehicle tablet to receive trip information and updates and validate pick-up and drop-off times.
Complete required paperwork and submit it to the regional office in a timely manner.
Attend routine paid training.
Comply with federal, state, and company rules and regulations.
