Driver
About The Position
NGL Transportation is hiring CDL-A Local Drivers and Owner Operators in the Savannah GA & Mobile AL area. Drivers will be assigned to the nearest NGL terminal (Savannah, GA or Mobile, AL) and run local port loads. This is a local port driver position with no overstay, meaning same-day returns. The runs are local port to customer to port, and the freight is mostly no-touch. The work schedule is Monday-Friday with occasional Saturdays, offering steady, consistent work. For company drivers, pay is $0.50 – $0.55 per mile or paid per load. There is a two-week pay hold, after which pay is weekly. The estimated weekly pay for company drivers is $1,000 – $1,400/week, with potential for higher earnings for those who run early morning, night shifts, or Saturdays, and for those with additional availability and flexibility. Earnings may be lower if availability is limited or if unable to perform full port turns. Company equipment includes well-maintained trucks with automatic transmissions. Drivers do not need to park at the terminal daily and may park the truck/container at a safe and secure location, being responsible for the equipment at all times. Owner Operators and Small Carriers are also welcome to run under NGL or with their own authority, with consistent local port work available.
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A
- Clean MVR
- Minimum 1 year CDL driving experience
- At least 6 months intermodal chassis experience
- Reliable & punctual
- Ability to pick up and return containers at port
