About The Position

This is a part-time position for 20-29 hours per week, with a starting pay of $16.00. The role involves providing safe and courteous transportation of clients in a timely manner. Requirements

  • Ability to perform basic math, reading, and writing.
  • Excellent communication skills for both phone and face-to-face interactions.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Physically able to perform basic first aid procedures and CPR.
  • Ability to pass driving background requirements as determined by the insurance company (by submitting driver's license number).
  • Pass Drug & Alcohol Screening.
  • Pass Driver Abstract Check.
  • Pass BCII & FBI Check.
  • Pass Company Physical.
  • Pass Company Eye Exam.
  • Complete 8 Hour “National Safety Council-Defensive Driving Class.
  • Complete 8 Hour –“DRIVE-Sensitivity to the Aging” Class.
  • Complete CPR-First Aid Trainings.
  • Complete Drug Free Workplace Training.
  • Complete HIPPA Confidentiality Training.
  • Complete Cultural Diversity and Dual Relationship Trainings.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED (testing can be done if not available to ensure ability to perform required tasks).

Responsibilities

  • Physically assist passengers in wheelchairs from residence, down ramps, up or down a curb, and into a handicap accessible vehicle with either a ramp or lift, maneuvering around the passenger to secure them inside the vehicle. This requires bending or kneeling. Assist clients using canes, walkers, or with assistive equipment. May assist parents/guardians by carrying car seats to the vehicle and securing small children, which may require lifting up to 40 pounds.
  • Physically able to hear sirens, road sounds, and vehicle sounds.
  • Able to see different colors of signal lights, stop signs, and traffic signs. Must have good night-time and daytime vision.
  • Assist clients to their proper location at large medical facilities, which may require walking long distances or pushing someone in a wheelchair a long distance.
  • Complete accurate and neat drivers and vehicle logs for billing purposes.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures in all areas at all times.
