About The Position

Great Performances is seeking a dependable, safety-focused, and hospitality-driven Driver to join their Catering and Operations team for the morning shift. This role is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of food, beverages, equipment, and supplies while supporting loading, unloading, and warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will be ready to hit the road, provide great service, and join a dynamic team.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience in New York City.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean and acceptable driving record required.
  • Strong familiarity with New York City roadways, traffic patterns, and driving conditions.
  • Strong commitment to safe driving practices and the proper handling and transportation of equipment, food, beverages, and event materials.
  • Professional, courteous, and hospitality-focused when interacting with clients, event guests, venue and building staff, and fellow employees.
  • Team-oriented with a positive, dependable, and “can-do” attitude.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to remain professional and solutions-focused when navigating changing schedules, delivery challenges, or other operational needs.
  • Flexible availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business and event needs.
  • Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods, including shifts of 8 hours or more.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading vehicles.
  • Must be able to provide valid documentation that you are legally eligible to work in the United States.

  • Driver Medical Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and pack event equipment, supplies, and materials in the warehouse to ensure readiness for scheduled deliveries.
  • Identify and document missing items during pack-out by creating and reporting a “short list” to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Verify that all loads are complete and aligned with delivery paperwork prior to departure.
  • Communicate shortages, discrepancies, damaged items, or other concerns to a Supervisor or Manager promptly.
  • Assist with loading company straight box trucks and other vehicles, ensuring all equipment, supplies, food, beverages, and materials are properly organized and secured for safe transport.
  • Safely operate company vehicles while following all traffic laws, company policies, and established safety procedures.
  • Transport event equipment, supplies, food, beverages, and materials to and from designated event and venue locations safely and efficiently.
  • Confirm loads are properly secured before departure and throughout transportation as necessary.
  • Follow assigned delivery schedules, routes, and instructions to support timely event operations.
  • Assist with unloading equipment, supplies, food, beverages, and materials at event and venue locations.
  • Ensure deliveries are placed in designated areas according to event or venue instructions.
  • Support the unloading and breakdown process upon return from events.
  • Separate equipment, perishable food items, returned beverages, and other materials and ensure proper handling and storage.
  • Report missing, damaged, or returned items requiring additional attention.
  • Provide professional, courteous, and hospitality-focused service when interacting with clients, guests, venue staff, and event teams during deliveries and pickups.
  • Represent the company in a positive and professional manner at all times while onsite at client and event locations.
  • Communicate respectfully and respond to delivery-related needs with a strong customer-service mindset.
  • Maintain professionalism and discretion when working in client-facing environments.
  • Handle client or venue questions and concerns professionally and promptly communicate any issues requiring additional support to a Supervisor or Manager.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and operational company vehicles, warehouse areas, and loading docks.
  • Remove trash, empty boxes, and unnecessary materials from vehicles and work areas.
  • Help maintain safe, clean, and clear loading, unloading, and warehouse workspaces.
  • Report vehicle, equipment, maintenance, or safety concerns to a Supervisor or Manager promptly.
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with Supervisors, Managers, warehouse staff, event teams, clients, and venue personnel.
  • Review event and delivery paperwork and immediately communicate discrepancies or delivery-related issues.
  • Collaborate with Warehouse and Operations teams to support smooth and efficient event deliveries and returns.
  • Assist with additional warehouse, delivery, and operational responsibilities as needed based on business and event requirements.
