About The Position

The Driver is responsible for delivering equipment to customers on time and ensuring all equipment is properly inspected, fueled, and documented upon return. This role requires maintaining a safe driving record, complying with DOT regulations, and providing excellent customer service. The driver will also provide basic training on equipment operation and safety to customers.

Requirements

  • Must have a Class A CDL license.
  • Must have a clean driving record.
  • No more than 2 minor violations within the past 3 years.
  • No major violations within the past 5 years.
  • Demonstrate high levels of customer service.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Candidate must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) will be performed on final candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver all equipment on a timely basis as promised to customers.
  • Ensure 100% of late deliveries are reported to dispatcher/Transportation Manager.
  • Ensure 100% of units are fueled, inspected for damage, and tagged at the time of return.
  • Complete 100% of management requests, special assignments, or projects within the specified time.
  • Maintain a safe driving record at all times.
  • Ensure Department of Transportation (DOT) log book is in 100% compliance.
  • Complete Drivers Daily Inspection Reports prior to the first run every morning.
  • Report 100% of suspected customer damage to the on-site coordinator immediately upon identification.
  • Take digital pictures of all suspected customer damage.
  • Document 100% of suspected damages on the check-in sheet.
  • Obtain customer signature on the rental contract and damage inspection sheet at the time of delivery (minimum 90% of all contracts and inspection sheets).
  • Keep the vehicle clean and in proper working order.
  • Wear the assigned uniform and keep it clean.
  • Interact with dispatcher/Transportation Manager throughout the day to support changing demand for equipment.
  • Perform final inspection of equipment before customer receives it, verifying inventory ID number, fuel level, and condition.
  • Provide familiarization training by giving customers start/stop and general safety operating instructions.
  • Possess a good working knowledge of equipment being delivered.
