About The Position

OATS Transit, a nonprofit transportation provider serving seniors, individuals with disabilities, and the rural general public in Missouri, is hiring drivers assigned to mini-vans, Ford Transits, or wide-body buses. This is a non-exempt, hourly, variable-hour position. Drivers provide courteous, respectful assistance to riders and operate and maintain an assigned vehicle and its equipment.

Requirements

Be at least 23 years of age.
Hold a Class E or CDL license with no more than 4 points assessed.
Pass a U.S. DOT physical and road test.
Pass drug screening and undergo random drug and alcohol testing.
Be bondable.
Be able to meet the physical demands of the active job, including sitting, walking, bending, reaching, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying.
Be able to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 pounds.
Have a proactive, helpful, can-do attitude and flexibility to adjust to different schedules and routes.
Be neat, organized, and able to work independently.

Computer experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Treat riders with respect, dignity, and courtesy, and assist them on and off the bus.
Safely secure wheelchairs and other mobility devices and follow applicable procedures.
Maintain the condition and cleanliness of the assigned OATS vehicle and equipment.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report issues for repair.
Use an in-vehicle tablet to receive trip information and updates and validate pickup and drop-off times.
Complete required paperwork and submit it to the regional office in a timely manner.
Attend routine paid training.
Comply with federal, state, and company rules and regulations.
