About The Position

The Driver maintains the company van and safely transports residents to activities and events. The role may include establishing and monitoring transportation schedules as requested by a supervisor. When not driving, the Driver reports to the supervisor for other duties and may assist Maintenance or Housekeeping with light tasks such as changing light bulbs, sweeping, mopping, cleaning, and taking out trash. The Driver may also support resident activities and functions.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.
High school diploma or GED.
Clean driving record.
Valid driver's license sufficient to drive the company vehicle.
Valid CDL license if required.
Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and basic mechanical skills.
Ability to lift 40 pounds.
Ability to bend, stand, lift, stoop, sit, carry, stretch, and walk; manual dexterity to operate a vehicle safely.
Interpersonal skills to work with people at various levels, including associates and residents.
Must be free of communicable disease.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Ability to follow directions.
Must complete drug testing and a criminal record background check upon hire and upon request of the supervisor.

Responsibilities

Drive residents in the company vehicle according to schedule.
Ensure residents enter and exit the vehicle safely.
Follow safety rules while the vehicle is in motion.
Understand and follow procedures for the mechanical lift, including its requirements and limitations.
Immediately report safety concerns and resident health or safety concerns to the supervisor.
Complete pickup and delivery errands as requested by the supervisor.
Keep the company vehicle clean and in proper running order.
Report to the supervisor for additional duties when not driving.
Support and participate in resident-centered activity programs.
Participate in assigned projects or committees.
Attend associate meetings, in-service education, and associate functions as requested by the supervisor.
Assist with a variety of resident-related tasks as assigned.
Assist Maintenance or Housekeeping with light maintenance and cleaning tasks as needed.
