About The Position

As a Driver, regular and relief, your main focus is to correctly pack and deliver meals to clients in a safe and timely manner. To report significant changes in client's physical, emotional, or social conditions. Relief Drivers must be available on a "as needed" or "on call" basis.

Requirements

  • Current, valid driver's license and safe driving record
  • Clean criminal history
  • Good physical health
  • Ability to collaborate cooperatively with staff and volunteers of the program.
  • Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs, moving the whole-body including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
  • Frequent sitting and ability to talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, crouch and kneel.
  • The member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 + pounds.
  • The members will have to travel locally by vehicle, as well as interact with clients.
  • Required to be free from communicable diseases.

Responsibilities

  • Always drive in a safe and courteous manner remembering that you are a representative of LifeBridge Community Services.
  • Anticipate the proper Ice Packs for usage.
  • Pick up meals at the preparation site.
  • Pack meals according to the daily packing lists provided.
  • Alert office staff of changes in clients' status
  • Deliver meals to clients.
  • Respect client confidentiality
  • Keep accurate records of meal temperatures, gasoline purchases, vehicle inspections.
  • Clean containers and vehicles daily
  • Alert Team Leader to vehicle maintenance needs; take van to service garage for maintenance.
  • Attending driver meetings.
  • Distribute materials and notices to clients as assigned.
  • Cooperate with representatives from the State and Area Agency.
  • Adhere to Agency policies and procedures.
  • Treat all LifeBridge staff with respect and honesty and develop cooperative teamwork.
  • Perform other duties as appointed by the Team Leader, Operations Manager and Program Director.
