About The Position

Sunbelt Rentals is hiring a Driver to deliver and pick up equipment at customer sites. The role involves loading, unloading, securing, and transporting equipment on local or longer-distance routes. Drivers provide professional customer service, including clear communication and safe equipment demonstrations at delivery, while complying with company safety policies and applicable transportation regulations. The position operates commercial vehicles that do not require a commercial driver’s license. Drivers use mobile applications, electronic logs, inspection forms, GPS, and routing technology. They maintain daily hours-of-service logs, perform commercial vehicle inspections, and maintain a safe driving record. Other duties may be assigned by a manager or authorized personnel.

Requirements

Have and maintain a valid driver license for the state or province of operation, an acceptable driving record, and authorized-driver status under Sunbelt Rentals Transportation Safety requirements.
Meet medical, licensing, endorsement, and driver qualification requirements applicable to the assigned vehicle and jurisdiction.
Have working knowledge of applicable motor-carrier safety requirements and relevant DOT/MOT, provincial, territorial, or other transportation guidelines.
Read, write, and communicate effectively in the language or languages required to perform the role and comply with applicable requirements.
Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, employees, or members of the business community.
Perform basic arithmetic using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Define problems, collect relevant information, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Safely secure and transport equipment and satisfactorily complete each essential duty.
Meet physical demands that include bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 lbs/23 kgs or more, and working indoors or outdoors when required.

Nice To Haves

Two years of experience, preferably with verifiable over-the-road experience operating a combination of commercial vehicles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous trailer or towing experience.
Related experience as a Roll-Back Driver, Flatbed Driver, Delivery Driver, Route Driver, Box Truck Driver, Stakebody Driver, or Appliance Delivery Driver.

Responsibilities

Deliver and pick up equipment at customer sites.
Load, unload, and secure equipment.
Haul equipment and supplies on assigned local or longer-distance routes.
Provide exceptional customer service through clear communication, professional presentation, quality equipment, and safe equipment demonstrations at delivery.
Maintain a compliant hours-of-service log daily.
Perform daily commercial vehicle inspections to ensure the truck and/or trailer is safe to operate.
Comply with Sunbelt Rentals transportation safety and compliance policies and procedures.
Operate commercial vehicles in compliance with applicable local, state, provincial, and federal regulations.
Maintain working knowledge of tools and equipment in the assigned location fleet.
Demonstrate safe driving behavior, maintain an acceptable driving record under company standards, and use defensive driving techniques.
Use mobile applications, electronic logs, inspection forms, GPS, and routing technology required for job duties.
Perform other duties assigned by the manager or authorized personnel.
