CDL Class A Driver Position Overview: We are seeking a safety‑focused Class A CDL Driver to transport steel products and accessory items from Gerdau suppliers. This role involves operating tractor/trailer equipment, making timely deliveries and pick‑ups, and maintaining accurate driving and vehicle records.

Requirements

Valid Class A CDL required
Minimum 9 months of experience with large mobile equipment or hauling vehicles
Knowledge of traffic regulations and load restrictions
Ability to read, write, perform basic math, and follow written or verbal instructions
Smartphone/web experience for GPS navigation
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and internet‑based applications

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred
Tanker and HazMat endorsements are a plus
SAP experience is a plus
Customer service experience preferred
Flexibility to work in various weather conditions

Responsibilities

Operate factory‑equipped diesel straight trucks and tractors with: Roll‑off trailers, Dump trailers, Van trailers
Pick up and deliver steel products and related materials
Safely load, unload, secure, and transport materials in compliance with DOT regulations
Follow standard operating procedures and prescribed methods
Complete deliveries and pick‑ups using verbal, written, and electronic instructions
Maintain accurate records, including: Driver’s Daily Log, Trip Reports, Vehicle Inspection Reports, Weekly Expense Reports
Assist with loading/unloading as needed; unload independently when required
Secure loads using chains or cinches and attach overhang markers
Maintain professional, courteous relationships with customers, suppliers, and receivers
Contact suppliers regarding roll‑off bin placement or location as necessary
Clean and maintain the vehicle regularly
