About The Position

RMTD is hiring full-time, entry-level drivers and provides the training necessary to succeed. The role is suited to service-oriented candidates with a friendly, customer-service-centered attitude who are willing to work all shifts. Starting pay is $19.25 per hour. New hires receive a $500 bonus after successfully completing a minimum three-month training period. Training includes at least five days of classroom driver training and a minimum three-month total training period. Qualified candidates must obtain a CDL, including passenger and air brake tests, within one month of employment; RMTD will provide training. Drivers must meet DOT physical qualifications and be able to assist passengers, including with wheelchair securement, in accordance with ADA regulations. Safety-sensitive applicants must pass a pre-employment drug test under Federal Regulations and DOT standards; recreational and medical marijuana use are prohibited under DOT guidelines.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old to hold a CDL.
• Must have a good driving record for the past three years, with no more than one moving violation or one at-fault accident.
• Must have no DUI convictions within the last 10 years.
• Must provide proof of personal auto insurance.
• Must have a verifiable, positive work history with no separations due to substance abuse violations.
• Must obtain a CDL, including passenger and air brake tests, within one month of employment.
• Must have a customer-focused and positive mindset.
• Must meet DOT physical qualifications under 49 CFR 391.41.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and bend, stoop, and kneel to secure wheelchairs and assist passengers.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test; recreational and medical marijuana use are prohibited under DOT guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Drive as part of RMTD's transportation services.
• Assist clients and passengers as required, including lifting and wheelchair securement.
• Complete required driver training and obtain a CDL with passenger and air brake qualifications within one month of employment.
