About The Position

Cargill is hiring a Driver Yard for its protein and salt business in Timberville, Virginia. The role supports yard management by moving, fueling, and cleaning trailers; cleaning dock areas; and unloading and receiving trailers. The position also includes plant rounds, trailer checks, visual safety inspections, occasional coverage for other yard drivers and security guards, and other tasks as assigned. The position is full-time, on the first shift with a split schedule from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and pays $24.53 per hour. Weekend on-call availability may be required when trailers need to be unloaded. Relocation reimbursement is not provided.

Requirements

Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be able to learn to drive a tractor-trailer; a CDL is not required because driving is limited to company premises.
Ability to work flexible hours and/or shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays.
Accuracy, precision, and dependability are necessary.
Must be able to be trained as a certified jack driver.
Good people skills and effective communication skills.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Ability to work independently.

Nice To Haves

Previous production or farm experience.
Previous Cargill experience.
Work history within the past 12 months.
Previous truck driver or yard driver experience.
Computer knowledge and experience.

Responsibilities

Jockey trailers, fuel and clean trailers, clean dock areas, and unload or receive trailers.
Cover for other yard drivers when they are absent due to illness, vacation, or other reasons.
Perform plant rounds and assist with trailer checks.
Visually inspect trucks and trailers for safety.
Complete other tasks or projects assigned by management.
Be available for weekend on-call work if trailers need to be unloaded.
Cover security guard breaks as needed.
