About The Position

This is a part-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Distribution Center Director. The role involves maintaining temperatures for refrigerated and frozen equipment, operating a forklift (certification required), and performing other duties as needed. The position requires the employee to be at least 21 years of age, possess a valid in-state driver's license, and undergo annual MVR processing and biennial background checks. Continued employment is contingent on these checks.

• An annual MVR will be processed in accordance with The Salvation Army’s policies.
• Continued employment will be contingent on a biennial (every 2 years) background check that is processed in accordance with The Salvation Army’s policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining temperatures for all refrigerated and frozen equipment
• Become certified on a forklift and be capable of working daily on a forklift
• Performs other duties as required

Benefits

• Sick leave benefit – 1 day per month, 12 sick days per year (accrual and availability begins at hire; sick time accrual is pro-rated for part-time hours.)
• Vacation benefit – 10 vacation days per year, accrued at the rate of .0385 hours for each hour worked, excluding overtime (accrual begins at hire but may not be used until the completion of six months of employment; vacation accrual is pro-rated for part time hours.)
• Pension Plan (after one year of continuous service) with at least 21 hours worked per week.
