Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • 1–3 years of experience in valve repair, mechanical work, or related field preferred
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs regularly
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in various environments (shop and field)
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions

Nice To Haves

  • CDL preferred (or ability to obtain)

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate company vehicles to transport valves, tools, and materials to customer sites and branch locations
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain accurate logs in compliance with DOT regulations
  • Load and unload equipment, ensuring proper handling and securement
  • Coordinate delivery schedules with operations and customers to ensure timely service
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair various types of valves (gate, ball, check, relief, etc.)
  • Disassemble, clean, repair, and reassemble valves according to manufacturer specifications
  • Perform pressure testing and document results accurately
  • Maintain service records and complete all required documentation
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including PPE requirements
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company standards
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment in both shop and field settings
  • Represent PSS Cross Country professionally at all times
  • Communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, and team members
  • Support branch operations as needed, including warehouse and inventory tasks
