About The Position

The Driver is responsible for providing safe transportation for clients who have appointments (legal, medical, etc.) or to transport individuals for NARA events. Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s license.
  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
  • Reliable transportation, current driver’s license with a clean driving record, and proof of auto insurance.
  • Basic experience performing minor vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, lube jobs, tire rotations, and coordinating or replacing new tires as needed.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries with clients, the community, and other staff members.
  • Must pass a pre-employment or for cause drug tests.
  • Must pass criminal background and DMV checks.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with Native American/ Alaska Native community is considered a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide transportation for clients who have appointments outside residential (legal, medical, etc.).
  • Perform weekly checks on NARA NW vehicles used for transportation.
  • Check oil, water, tire pressure, etc.
  • Make minor repairs to vehicles as needed, such as replacing fuses or light bulbs.
  • Maintain mileage and transportation logs.
  • Ensure vehicle is equipped with appropriate equipment during inclement weather conditions (chains, snow tires).
  • Responsible for daily and routine mail deliveries to NARA facilities.
  • Responsible for weekly food bank pick-up.
  • Attend staff meetings as assigned.
  • Works collaboratively, and maintains professional boundaries with clients, other NARA staff, team members, and treats everyone with respect and dignity at all times.
