About The Position

Gordon Food Service is hiring a Driver Trainee in Niles, Michigan. This role is designed for people entering the transportation industry. Trainees learn to drive a truck and work toward obtaining a CDL A license while accompanying drivers and building relationships with customers. They learn to deliver food products to restaurants, schools, hospitals, universities, and other customers. The work includes unloading cases weighing up to 100 pounds and using a ramp and two-wheeler during the shift. A CDL A permit is required to begin. The schedule is Monday through Friday, starting between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. and continuing until the route is finished. The stated pay is $26.01 per hour. Requirements

At least 21 years of age.
CDL A permit required.
Ability to operate a two-wheel cart with loads of up to 350 pounds.
Successfully pass a drug test assessing drug usage, including marijuana.
Successfully pass a background check.
Register with the Department of Transportation Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse and provide electronic consent.
