About The Position

This role involves delivering propane products to farm and commercial customers in a professional and efficient manner. The driver will be responsible for operating the vehicle's metering system for customer billing, collecting payments, and maintaining accurate daily reports and logs. A key aspect of the job is ensuring safe handling of all products and equipment, adhering to company policies, and maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of the delivery unit. The position also requires performing pre-trip inspections and recording driver hours of service. Additionally, the driver will assist in other areas as assigned.

Requirements

Must be able to operate a tandem truck; Class 1 or 3 license with air endorsement.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to problem solve
Ability to work effectively with other staff, supervisors and customers
Ability to follow safe work procedures
Strong attention to detail
Previous propane experience an asset
Must produce a clean drivers abstract
Must hold a valid class 1 or 3 driver’s license with air brake endorsement
WHMIS, TDG certifications
First Aid Certification
H2S Certification

Responsibilities

Deliver product in a professional and efficient manner to farm and commercial customers.
Operate the metering system in the vehicle for customer billing.
Collect payment from customer as required.
Fill out daily declining balance report.
Complete a pre-trip inspection every morning before operating the truck.
Maintain and clean the delivery unit.
Load and unload propane on the bulk truck and end use containers.
Keep accurate and timely driver reports and logs.
Record driver hours of service.
Practice safe handling procedures with all product and equipment; report hazardous conditions to management.
Assist in other areas as assigned.
