About The Position

The 1978 Collection, a prestigious event rental company located in Eighty Four, PA, is seeking candidates for Driver's Assistant positions. Nature of the Work: Will assist in loading and unloading vehicles/trucks and work with delivery personnel/drivers and dispatchers to deliver any equipment in full or partial loads. Must service customers in a polite, friendly and professional manner. May be required to assist customers with reservations, contracts, questions, register transactions and order adjustments.

Requirements

Must be able to lift approximately 70 lbs.
Must maintain a professional personal appearance
Must possess customer relation skills
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license
Must be able to read a road map and clearly communicate directions to the driver
Must be able to use mathematics to solve problems
Must be able to speak English clearly and write legibly. The ability to speak other languages is a plus
Must pass company drug screen
Must maintain an acceptable attendance record
Must have a full range of motion and dexterity
Must be able to understand and complete instructions furnished in written, oral or scheduled form
Maintain a cooperative working relationship with co-workers
Must be able to maintain a high degree of patience

Nice To Haves

The ability to speak other languages is a plus

Responsibilities

Load and unload equipment
Prep equipment, if necessary prior to loading
Assist with the delivery and pick up of equipment
Provide directional assistance when parking delivery truck
Read a road map and clearly communicate directions to the driver
Know specifics and applications of rental inventory to answer questions upon delivery
Double check delivered items to make sure customer receives exactly what was ordered
Notify dispatcher or store if behind schedule, so customers may be contacted.
Instruct customers on equipment operation
Start equipment and review safety features with customers
When picking up equipment, if something is missing or broken, fill out the appropriate forms and obtain customer's signature
Verify pick up ticket copies were delivered to warehouse supervisor/manager so counts then can be verified prior to unloading
Adhere to and maintain all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations in written or verbal form
Comply with government safety requirements and other regulations and security in store
Attend department, store and safety meetings
Perform other duties as requested
