About The Position

This role combines the responsibilities of a Recovery Support Aide (RSA) and a Transportation Driver. As an RSA, the individual will facilitate and deliver treatment services according to a structured program schedule, ensuring a therapeutic environment that is productive, meaningful, and appropriate for clients. As a Transportation Driver, the individual will transport passengers in agency vans/vehicles over specified routes and/or distant points, according to a time schedule, in a safe and professional manner. Drivers will be responsible for keeping vehicles and equipment maintained, ensuring the vehicle has all necessary supplies, completing shift forms, and maintaining FCCBH’s professional code of ethics.

Requirements

  • Possession of a High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Must have strong interpersonal social skills; able to remain calm in emotionally charged settings
  • Possess, or ability to possess, a Missouri Class “E” Chauffeur’s Driver’s License
  • Meet the minimum requirements to be clinically privileged by FCC Behavioral Health
  • Must possess a valid Class “E” Chauffeurs Licenses
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum one (1) year related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and facilitate group activities (educational and recreational) according to program schedules using a group facilitating format and group material that engages the client.
  • Provide continuous supervision of clients to ensure compliance and report any physical and/or emotional changes to the proper staff members.
  • Coordinate crisis intervention services, as needed.
  • Monitor vital signs, urine analysis, self-administration of medication and search of clients as required. Some sites require medication administration.
  • Serve as a positive role model through professional appearance, therapeutic communication and respect for self and others.
  • Assist in identifying and assessing strengths and needs of clients.
  • Assist in the transportation of clients to and from scheduled activities, as needed.
  • Monitor and maintain facilities and storage areas for cleanliness and the working condition of equipment. Cleans, adjusts, and moves items to proper areas.
  • Adherence to all applicable evidence-based practice models.
  • Orally communicate information effectively and accurately.
  • Assure program operates within the constraints of the agency’s certification (CARF, DMH/ASAM) standards and strategic plan related to clinical care.
  • Abide by program and agency policies and procedures.
  • Other job duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Transport passengers in agency vans/vehicles over specified routes and/or distant points, according to time schedule, in a safe and professional manner.
  • Keep vehicles and equipment maintained.
  • Ensure that the vehicle has all the necessary supplies.
  • Complete shift forms.
  • Maintain FCCBH’s professional code of ethics.
  • Maintain a safe driving record.
  • Conduct monthly vehicle inspections for assigned agency vans/vehicles.
  • Complete daily pre-trip inspections to include checking of gas, oil, and water prior to departure to ensure passenger comfort and safety.
  • Ensure that assigned vehicles are exceptionally clean, inside and out, at all times.
  • Make basic maintenance repairs and tire changes as needed and when possible.
  • Maintain awareness of maintenance schedule for assigned vehicle.
  • Report all preventable/unpreventable accidents and incidents in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Utilize defensive driving techniques.
  • Assist passengers with walkers/wheelchairs and assist them when entering and exiting the vehicle as needed.
  • Regulate heating and ventilating systems for passenger comfort.
  • Comply with local and state traffic regulations.
  • Report route delays to supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Use I-pads accurately.
