About The Position

San Luis Valley Behavioral Health Group in Alamosa, CO is seeking a dedicated full-time Recovery Support Specialist to join their mission-driven team. Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent
Experience working with substance-use populations
Ability to obtain a Peer Specialist certification within 90 days
Must be a current or former client (or family member of a client) of mental health services
Organizational skills and creative problem-solving
Crisis-intervention knowledge
Ability to observe, document, and report client progress
Strong verbal and written communication
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
Ability to perform light physical work
Basic computer skills

Responsibilities

Guide clients in their recovery journey by providing encouragement, sharing experiences, and modeling healthy coping skills.
Support individuals in outpatient settings.
Advocate for client needs.
Help build client confidence.
Document client progress.
Collaborate with the care team.
Empower clients to regain control of their wellness.
