About The Position
CEDA is currently seeking 3 Driver/Operators for Pressure & Vacuum at our Sarnia, ON location! Requirements
- Valid class AZ or DZ license with no more than 5 demerits in the last two years
- Driving is in your nature, then passing CEDA’s Driver Assessment in a manual transmission will be a breeze (10, 13 and 18 speed)
- Able to provide a negative result on a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
- Able to travel throughout Ontario (flexibility in scheduling is required)
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- You are safety focused when it comes to people and equipment
- Experience and comfort with confined spaces
- Perform physically demanding work including climbing multiple flights of stairs and carrying equipment (able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis)
- Comfortable with the use of additional respiratory equipment and air supply; wearing a full face mask and carrying your own source of oxygen
- You’re happiest working in a team, sharing a laugh with your coworkers and getting the job done safely
Nice To Haves
- 1+ years of directly related work experience driving/operating vacuum truck, chemical cleaning equipment, high pressure/water trucks and/or combo units is considered an asset
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain vacuum trucks, high pressure water equipment and various specialty tools
- 90% of your day is outside of the truck, boots on the ground!
- Proficient in driving manual transmissions.
- Work safely at heights up to 100 meters in a labor intensive capacity
- Climb safely into small vessels and tanks with industrial cleaning equipment – our experienced crew has your back
- Ensure safety for all team members and property
- Work as part of a team and follow direction from supervision
- Work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
- Learn new skills every day by rigging in and out specialty equipment
- Complete required paperwork for unit pre-trip, inspections, job reports and safety documents
- Challenge your eye for detail, practice what we preach. Take your time, get the job done right the first time and safely every time
- Strictly observe and enforce all company and client safety requirements
- Other duties as assigned
