About The Position

Ryder is hiring a NON-CDL Truck Driver in Edgewood, NY — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. This position offers a competitive salary of $1140 or more per week, with hourly pay at $24.00 per hour for 40-50 hours per week. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with no weekends, and a start time of 5:00 AM dispatch. The role involves delivering SOLO within a 250-mile radius of Edgewood, NY, including the 5 Boroughs, with local routes and daily home returns. The truck type is a 26' Box Truck, equipped with a dolly and door cart. Freight handling involves touching windows and doors. Trucks are 36 months or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at over 800 facilities nationwide. Ryder emphasizes upfront information about pay, routes, and schedules to ensure driver confidence. The company also offers paid training and unlimited referral bonuses for hired drivers.

Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience
  • Pass a Ryder Drug Test
  • Must have verifiable driving experience (must be in like equipment if position being applied for is operating a straight truck or box truck): 6 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
  • Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Responsibilities

  • Safely driving a vehicle within and requires compliance with safety regulations, continuous training and customer service.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
  • Maintaining accurate records
  • Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
  • Other tasks as assigned
