About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class B CDL Truck Driver in Louisville, KY — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. Ryder Employees who Drive on this account earn $932 or more Weekly and it gets better. This position offers hourly pay of $23.32 per hour with 40-45 hours per week. A safety bonus pays $300 four times a year, every quarter. Paid training is provided. The schedule is Monday – Friday with occasional Saturdays, starting between 6:00 AM - 8:00 AM. The delivery radius is within 100 miles of Grove City, OH, and the driver will act as a helper in the truck. The route is local and home daily. The trailer type is a 26' Straight Truck, and the equipment includes a Manual Dolly and Pallet Jack. Ryder will train you on all equipment needed to be successful. The freight is touch freight, specifically cable boxes. Trucks are 36 months or newer, include 24/7 Roadside Maintenance, and company drivers fuel up the trucks at over 800 Maintenance Facilities Nationwide.

Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience
  • Pass a Ryder Drug Test
  • Must have verifiable driving experience (must be in like equipment if position being applied for is operating a straight truck or box truck): 6 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
  • Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
  • Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Safely driving a vehicle within and requires compliance with safety regulations, continuous training and customer service.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
  • Maintaining accurate records
  • Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
  • Other tasks as assigned
