Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Current IL Driver’s license is required

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to drive safely relating to Illinois Traffic Rules and Regulations.
  • Employee will need to recognize and respond to the needs and behaviors of patients in a variety of age groups, such as pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain the department vehicles in a dependable, efficient, safe and reliable manner
  • Transports patients, employees, mail, specimens and other hospital activities which require driving
  • Patrols hospital parking lot when not transporting
  • Maintains an acceptable attendance record per hospital policy
  • Recognizes and responds to the needs and behaviors of patients in a variety of age groups, such as neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric. (Example: Understand normal patterns of behavior
  • Assist patients to and from the Motor Transportation vehicle
  • Ability to know the city streets regarding directions and landmarks.
